Our International experience
Advising the Foreign and Commonwealth Office on a major Facilities Management shared services procurement for the FCO's Home Estate and 14 diplomatic missions in Europe. A cross firm team from Burges Salmon worked closely with our European better friend firms across 12 jurisdictions.
We worked closely with ECI and the management team of Bounty on its disposal to Kaboose Inc, the largest independent family focused online media company in North America for £70m.
Advising the steel producer Corus on a wide range of international matters, including tenders for the supply of materials to major oil and gas projects in countries such as Nigeria, Angola, Egypt, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brazil and China and contracts for the supply of engineering services in India and Mexico.
Advising Thermphos on its purchase of Solutia's Dequest water treatment phosphonates business for £67m. The deal involved lawyers in five jurisdictions with Thermphos taking over operations in the USA, Brazil, Belgium, China, Japan and Singapore as well as in the UK. Also advising Thermphos on its acquisition of Rhodia's speciality chemicals business in the UK, Germany, Brazil and other jurisdictions.
Advising ECI Partners LLP on the £61m acquisition of Clinisys Group involving wide ranging UK and European jurisdictions.
Advising the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces on an AED5 billion plus YahSat project for the provision of military satellite communications services.
Advising Quark Expeditions Ltd, the world's leading operator of expedition cruise voyages to the polar regions, on their sale to First Choice holidays.
Advising Firstgroup Plc on their joint venture with DSB (the Danish state rail operator) to bid for the Oresund Rail franchise in Denmark and Sweden.
Advising Sunbeam Corporation, alongside Belgian and Italian lawyers, on distributor and agent arrangements in European jurisdictions.
Advising the selling shareholders on the UK aspects of the €16m sale of Radioplan to Summit Newco, a private equity backed buyout vehicle.
Advising STERIS Corporation on the £32m acquisition of Albert Browne Limited.
Advising Nordson Corporation, the world's leading manufacturer of systems that apply adhesives, sealants and coatings during the manufacturing process, on the acquisition of Dage Holdings Limited.
Advising Berry Gardens B.V., the joint venture company formed on the merger of the European marketing and research interests of KG Growers, Driscoll's and Alconeras.
